Hi,

Anna [SIRMANO] is a Greek Australian contemporary artist based in Abu Dhabi. She creates playful mixed-media works that often feature strong, independent women characters set within colourful, atmospheric spaces. Her work is closely tied to her Greek heritage, shaped by growing up in Australia within a proudly Greek family, navigating her sense of belonging within the two spaces. Childhood trips to Greece created deep memories, symbols, and cultural influences which inform the narratives and emotional tone of her pieces.

After graduating with a degree in Design from the Queensland College of Art in 2005, Anna continued her studies in illustration at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Canada, completed an artist residency in Barcelona, and has exhibited her work both nationally and internationally. She has also contributed to street art festivals across Queensland. Her creative journey is driven by a love of travel, diverse cultures, and the traditions and stories passed down through her Greek background. Colour sits at the heart of her practice, guiding her storytelling and drawing her back to the canvas again and again.

When she is not painting, Anna works as the Associate Creative Director at Slash Design Studio in Abu Dhabi, where she explores creativity through a different lens.
